Who we are
We are a scale-up business based in Shoreditch working on a range of innovative digital applications for the rail industry. We are currently looking for a NodeJS back end software developer to join our team to work on a number of exciting projects.
Who you are
You should have at least 2 years experience of in backend API development in Node.js. You will enjoy working in a small team with a wide range of skills and experience. You will be excited about the opportunity to help shape and work on innovative new applications. You will not be afraid to say if you do not understand something – we all work as a team and are keen to help each other learn. You will need to be fluent in English, have good communication skills, and hold a valid UK work visa. Being able to explain complex programming problems in plain English to clients and other staff is a key skill.

Required Skills:

- An interest, or willingness, to learn about the UK rail network
What you will be doing
Using Node.js to create and maintain services for RESTful API’s, CRON processing and real-time data manipulation in a multi-server distributed system.
Jnction produces and maintains a wide range of software applications. The role will require you to be involved at different levels across all of these projects. You would be working closely with a front end designer and developer for the majority of the work, so being able to work well within a team is essential.
An interest and/or knowledge of the UK rail network and the associated data feeds is not essential, but would form a large part of the day-to-day role. You will be working on new innovative projects, so the ability to learn quickly and work with large complicated datasets is required.

COVID-19 considerations:
We are currently working from home using Slack to keep connected. This is likely to continue until at least September, but depending on the situation later in the year you would then be expected to spend some days a week (2/3) in our office in Shoreditch.
