Being able to explain complex programming problems in plain English to clients and other staff is key.

You will need to be:

  • Logical and analytical
  • A quick learner
  • A keen problem solver
  • Able to teach yourself
  • Enthusiastic about programming

Required Skills:

  • Stakeholder engagement and comms
  • Python, R or JavaScript
  • SQL
  • GIT

Good to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field
  • Project management
  • Rail domain and data experience
  • Statistical analysis
  • Machine learning development

What you will be doing

JNCTION’s Data Analytics Consultants are specialists that deliver advanced analytics solutions within the rail industry – you will be working with a variety of different and complex data sets to uncover insights and communicate these to our clients.

You’ll be working with a wider variety of technologies to process and analyse datasets, creating sophisticated data models and data visualisations, working closely with our technical leadership team.

At JNCTION we understand that your skills will depend on the stage at which you join JNCTION in your career and your background. We will help you learn any new skills and programming languages required, all we look for is a strong desire to learn and develop.

An understanding of the rail industry is also beneficial but again can be developed as part of the role. An interest and/or knowledge of the UK rail network and the associated data feeds are not essential but would form a large part of the day-to-day role. You will be working on new innovative projects, so the ability to learn quickly and work with large, complicated datasets is required.
